"Santa Mushroom", Russian Unique Wooden Carving, c35, 18", Unique

"Lesovichok-Borovichok" mushroom figurine is a main character from one of the classical Russian fairy tales "Morozko". It is crafted completely by hand.
First, the carver on the commission of the artist prepared the blank: he was drying the linden wood log for almost five years. Then he carved it - it took almost two months. Then the artist for another two months was working on the subject matter- she painted the figurine with acrylic and decorated it through magnifying glass with scenes from the magic fairy tale world created by Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen.
In the Russian fairy tale "Morozko" Lesovichok ( the mushroom's name) pops out of the ground every time the good and kind character in the tale needs help or advise, or lesson or when the latter accidentally gets into trouble, or falls into a trap.
Unique, linden wood. Workshop "Saraphinchan", Sergiyev Posad, Russia. 18"H x 10"W x 12"D
