Great Russian Nutcrackers

Russian Nutcrackers carvings are large and small figurines. Those became popular rather recently -- in the last two to three decades. The story of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King was written by E. T. A. Hoffmann (1816). Alexandre Dumas' adaptation of the story was set to music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and has become one of the most popular ballet performed around Christmas time. It is appealing to children and adults alike and has been a standard Christmas feature of theaters all over the world.

In Russia there are more painters than carvers. And very few- very good carvers. Each painter keeps his acquaintance with his carver a secret. He does not disclose his name. Not every carver would carve a figurine of a nutcracker. Making a moving mouth of the nutcracker is the most difficult part in the nutcracker carving. That is why a Russian hand carved nutcracker and a German machine made nutcracker are two different things. Our nutcracker carvings are made by hand out of solid linden wood, hand painted.

In 2019 we launched a series of 12 different nutcrackers standing on the drum. Initially it was an order from Mr. Abdullah Al Merza, a vivid collector of wooden nutcrackers from all over the world. He shared with us some ideas and pictures, we added more history to them, and our our artists put their time and skills and knowledge. As a result we came up with one of a kind figurines of museum quality, flawless in craft and unique in design. They are carved and decorated by hand with fine burning on wood.

Every single Nutcracker of this series has a history behind and represents Political Dignitaries, Military Commanders, Russian Czars and Emperors, show through centuries of Russian history real Heroes of glorious battles fought by Russians for their survival and independence.

Every customer who buys a nutcracker on the drum, (2019 series) is entitled to 5% off the second one, 10% off the third one, 15% off the fourth one.
