"Alexander I in Siberia", 16"H, s301, Russian Genuine Unique Wooden Collectible Santa
This Santa is crafted by hand: carved out of the best specie of linden wood log (Amur tilia) with big bag of toys in the hand and painted in complex special technique - with tempera, gouache and watercolor.
On the front and on the back as well as on big sack there are masterfully painted pictures of Siberian forest - with hats of snow on huge tall trees, frost and silence! Everywhere. Slowly the Sun appears in between the pines, far away! It is becoming warmer indeed!
There is a conspiracy theory saying that Alexander the First, Russian Czar, the conqueror of Paris and the troops of Napoleon did not die in the city Taganrog, but anonymously retreated tired of power and responsibility into Siberian village where he lived as a monk until the beginning 60-s of the 19th century.
Phenomenal quality of carving and decoration, museum caliber flawless work!
Unique. First copy. No past or future repetition!
