This work is crafted by hand: made out of linden wood and painted with tempera. Workshop "Kvitok", Moscow, Russia. Unique. The size: 2.5"H without and 3.5"H with stand.
The icon "Vladimirskaya" was painted by Evangelist Luke on a board from the table at which the Savior ate. in 1131 it was initially sent from Konstantinople to Rus to Holy Prince Mstislav. St. Andrew Bogolubskiy, the son of Yuri Dogorukiy, who later brought it to the city of Vladimir in 1155. In 1395 the icon was finally brought to Moscow. It stays now in the Tretyakov Gallery. Thus the spiritual bonds were established between Byzantium and Rus via Kiev, Vladimir and Moscow. Now it is one of the most venerated icons in Russia.
