"Russian Cavalry Guard", 15"H, nu60, Authentic Unique Wooden Nutcracker
This nutcracker is unique creation of two artists: a carver and the painter decorator. It is crafted by hand: carved out linden wood and painted with tempera and acrylic. It is decorated by implementing burning on wood technique, where a part of the military uniform is finely burned through magnifying glass as well as with gold paint. The technique is very complicated and time consuming so just literally few Russian artists use it on wooden handcraft. This work is called after Russian Infantry Guard who died in tens of thousands to protect Russian land against Napoleon invasion of 1812.
Workshop "Tabo", Sergiyev Posad, Russia.
This is one of twelve unique nutcrackers (all of them are historic characters - Emperors, Czars Dukes, Statesmen, Marshals) created and designed by two Russian artists and Alkota. The Ideas were generously shared with us by Mr. Abdullah Zaman.
