"Scenes from Fairy Tales", 11"H, mb7, Russian Music Box
This music box is crafted by hand : made out of linden wood and painted with acrylic. It is decorated with scenes from Russian fairy tales. 11"H. There is a musical mechanism inside, which plays different tunes of Russian popular songs such as "Moscow Nights", "Katyusha", or from the Nutcracker Ballet.
The music box is shaped as Saint Basil Cathedral, a notorious historical building in the heart of Moscow - Red Square- which was erected on orders from Russian Czar Ivan the Terrible in 1561 (1553-1561) to commemorate the victory of Russian troops over the last threshold of Tatar Mongols Kazan Khanate and Astrakhan.
